Brewing Company And Ice Cream Maker Team Up To Create "Fudgie the Beer"

Think of the best food-related things summer has to offer. I'm sure that wasn't too hard.

Let me guess, you're probably thinking of cold desserts, like ice cream, and beer.

You're not the only one who thinks these treats go great together!

A brewing company in New York has joined with an ice cream maker so consumers can have their cake in a beer. Summer just got a little tastier!

Captain Lawrence Brewing Company's "Fudgie the Beer" is a take on Carvel's "Fudgie the Whale" ice cream cake that's formed in the shape of a whale.

The stout beer is brewed with the ice cream cake maker's signature chocolate and fudge and is 6 percent alcohol by volume.

The brewery says the beer pairs well with smoked foods and chocolate desserts.

The first batch of "Fudgie the Beer" sold out and the second batch will be available Friday.

The beer will be available only at Captain Lawrence's beer hall in Elmsford, New York.

If you're in the area, get this special limited edition beer before it runs out! It's available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans.

On Saturday June 16th, Captain Lawrence is hosting Fudgie Fun Day. Bring your family and try their other treats, like Fudgie's Cake cups and Fudgie's Father's Day Float Milkshakes.

Watch how "Fudgie the Beer" is made below! And if you're wondering, Fudgie did help in making this delightful treat.
